Our Beliefs
Park Road Church is a member of the Canadian Assemblies of God, however our church is filled with people from many different denominational and cultural backgrounds. One of our prayers is that denominational walls would come down and that we as a people of God would serve, love and worship Him with all of our hearts regardless of what Christian background we have. God is looking for relationship, not religion. Nevertheless, we do have fundamental beliefs, all based on the Word of God.
We Believe…
...the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
...there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
...in the deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, his sinless life, his miracles, his vicarious and atoning death, his bodily resurrection, his ascension to the right hand of the Father, his personal future return to earth.
...in the "Blessed Hope," the rapture of the Church at Christ’s second coming.
...the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in saving power of Christ’s blood shed on his cross.
...regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
...the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
...the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4 is given to all believers who ask for it.
...in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
...in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, one to everlasting life, the other to everlasting damnation.
...that Christianity, when lived like Jesus taught, is the most fulfilling, exciting, joyful, peaceful, positive, thrilling, lifestyle one could possibly experienceand that one’s true potential can never be reached outside of this vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ!
